A devastating tornado struck the town of Barnsdall, Oklahoma on Monday, May 6, 2024. The Parish of St. Mary in Barnsdall sustained significant damage, including the complete loss of the parish hall, many broken windows and doors, some roof destruction and interior damage. We are already beginning to hear from individual Tulsa Diocese pilgrims who will travel on their own to Atchison, Kansas to meet up with the St. Junipero Serra pilgrimage group on June 25-26. They are saying to others “Meet us at the Bridge” – that is, the bridge over the Missouri River – at 3:00 PM on June 25th where a Eucharistic procession into Atchison will begin. On Thursday, April 4, 2024, Michael Dewayne Smith, age 41, is scheduled to be executed for the Oklahoma County murders of Janet Moore, age 41 and Sharath “Babu” Pulluru, age 22. Both died in separate shootings in Oklahoma City in 2002.
